The 63 Crops of the Suitability Assessment
Every hectare is assessed against each crop's own tolerances. The database holds 63 crops — 56 from the FAO/ALUES reference set and 7 Saudi-priority additions drawn from FAO ECOCROP, marked ★. Each is grouped by agricultural type; the suitability engine reads the 26 diagnostic factors against every crop's thresholds.

How the database is used. A crop's suitability class comes from reading the 26 diagnostic factors against that crop's tolerance table — so the same hectare can be S1 for date palm and S3 for tomato. The ★ crops were added for Saudi relevance and validated against FAO ECOCROP; the rest come from the ALUES 0.2.1 reference database.
